DPT declares Bongo-Chapcha constituency candidate

Pempa is the new candidate of Druk Phuensum Tshogpa (DPT) to represent the party from Bongo-Chapcha constituency in Chhukha in the 2018 elections.

The 36 years old hails from Damjay village of Bongo gewog and has served 10 years in Royal Bhutan Army (RBA) in various capacities as General English Clerk, Accountant and Head of the English Clerk Section.

According to DPT, Pempa resigned from RBA in 2007 and became a farmer in his native village, which has enabled him to evaluate and understand the developmental needs of his constituency.

“Besides his valuable experiences as public servant and a farmer, he brings along a fiery passion for politics and democracy and unwavering commitment to serve the Tsa-Wa-Sum,” states DPT.

Pempa has a bachelors’ degree from North Eastern Hill University in Shillong, India.

Meanwhile, the DPT has announced 25 new candidates till date.
