One glaring erroneous prediction that the Himalayan glaciers could completely melt by 2035 has led to a chaotic debate about whether the top Nobel prize winning climate research body of the United Nation – the Noble Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) – should be overhauled. The project involves giving fishing rights to 74 Olep households in Wangdue and the initiative could be replicated in the Kheng region as the government says it will improve livelihood and allow the fishing communities to practice sustainable fishing. Plan for the development of industrial estates and special economic zones (SEZ) received a boost with the National Land Commission approving 1,185 acres for the country’s largest industrial estate at Jigmeling, Gelephu.
