Summer vacation is around the corner and being stuck at home every day can get boring! Here are seven ideas for summer activities that won’t break the bank and will refresh your minds to come back stronger.
1 Clear your room
You could be thinking about it for a long time but put it off because there were exams to handle. First and foremost give your room a facelift. This could involve clearing out old clothes, books, rearranging the furniture and so on. This will help you clear your head and encourage fresh thinking.
2 Learn something new
Summer vacation is a great opportunity to do something you always wanted to do but didn’t have the time. You have over two weeks of free time. Use it to learn something new. Perhaps you could take some cooking classes or guitar lessons or learning another language. The opportunities are endless. After all, learning doesn’t have to be something we only do at school.
3 Pamper your besties
Pamper days are heaps of fun, especially for the girls. Call all your besties and invite them over with their favorite skin care products and make up. Take turns giving each other facials and trying out new makeup looks. You’ll have a moment to cherish from the two weeks that you have at hand.
4 Get cultured
Try visiting Lhakhangs and temples around you. You could also plan a trip with your parents or friends to Temples and Lhakhangs outside your town. Art galleries and exhibitions can be another interesting place to spend your time, especially with the monsoon setting in.
5 Go bushwalking
One healthy activity to tryout is a bushwalk through a national park or the lush green surround us. The fresh air and exercise will make your skin glow, while the peace and quiet will leave you feeling totally serene and relaxed. Call up a friend, pack a hat, sunscreen and plenty of water, and make sure you’ve told someone where you are going.
6 Hit the summer sales
We love scoring bargains at our favorite stores. Make a list of what you want before you get back to school or college and match it with your budget. Go around with friend and enjoy the moment of window shopping,- it cost nothing.
7 Volunteer for that cause you always supported
We all have causes that we support but supporting something it on ‘Facebook’ and volunteering to work for them are two different things. Take a look at those causes, and find out how you can volunteer some of that free time you have for them. It will make a world of difference. These are just some ideas. Come up with some of your own, and be creative. Regardless of how you spend your summer break, be sure to make the most of it. Remember your summer vacation will only be boring if you allow it to be.
